Dr. Rocco Costabile
Dr. Rocco Costabile grew up in the Central Pennsylvania region, before graduating from high school in 1998 and moving to the greater Philadelphia area. He completed his undergraduate degree in 2002 at Saint Joseph’s University with a degree in Biology, and graduated from Temple University School of Medicine in 2006. He went on to complete his residency in Family Medicine from 2006-2009 in the Crozer-Keystone Health System in Delaware County, PA. He has practiced medicine at Holmesburg Family Medicine Associates from 2009 to the present.
Dr. Richard J. Berger
Dr. Richard J. Berger was born in Holland, PA and is currently a resident of South Jersey. He attended Delaware Valley College where he completed his undergraduate degree in Biology in 1988, and went on to graduate from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1993 as a Board-Certified Family Practitioner. He began his career with Temple Physicians’ Incorporated, and working for local family medical practices throughout the city of Philadelphia before joining Holmesburg as a partnering physician. Dr. Berger has been practicing at Holmesburg for over 15 years, and is the recipient of the 2013 Patient's Choice Award.
Paul D. Carter, PA-C
Paul graduated from the Hahnemann University Physician Assistant Program in 1993. His career was preceded as a U.S. Navy Hospital Corpsman for 10 years, followed by work as a Physician Assistant in emergency medicine, internal medicine, and geriatrics. He has been a Physician Assistant with Holmesburg Family Medicine since 1997. Paul also serves as a Preceptor for the Arcadia University Physician Assistant Program, and is the recipient of the 2019 Clinical Educator of the Year Award for Arcadia University.
Lauren Pleis, CRNP
Lauren is a lifetime resident of Northeast Philadelphia. She attended St. Hubert’s Catholic High School, and graduated in 2007. Lauren continued her education at LaSalle University, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in 2011. She worked as an RN for six years in the areas of Oncology, Rehabilitation, and Urology. She then attended Chamberlin University, graduating in 2017 as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner. Lauren completed her residency with Holmesburg Family Medicine from 2016-17, and has been employed with Holmesburg since 2019.
